I guess the civil service the world over treat their employees
about the same. We don't get paid overtime either, but the big
difference is that, due to budgetary constraints, we're not
allowed to work overtime, even if there's a major project
deadline looming. It's a strange situation as you can't even
volunteer to work unpaid overtime as federal requlations require
that any and all overtime be compensated.
