For months now, I've sensed this curiosity slowly building up in
me... I've been reading a bit here and there about a few featured
Australian wines and I think I'd really love to try them, plus they
might help me sleep a little better at night, so on the nights
preceding my days off, I think I might try the featured wines and
start to learn more.
I'll definitely go for the 'fruity' or 'flowery' wines
first. I still can't forget my first bottle of Brown Brothers
Orange Muscat and Flora, for which I had to purchase my very first
corkscrew.
Next, I wanna try the Juliet range of wines. And then
there's the Brown Brothers' 2007 Vermentino and Dry Muscat...
Vermentino :
This wine has refreshing lifted aromas of peach, passionfruit
and tropical fruits and a slight hint of acid provides a crisp, yet
delicate finish.
2007 Dry Muscat :
Smells like freshly crushed grapes! Fruity, musky flavour –
fresh and lively. Serve very chilled.
And mmmm... my favourite and discovery of the year - 2008 Orange
Muscat and Flora!
Orange Muscat and Flora is a
blend unique to Brown Brothers. Orange Muscat
forms the backbone of the blend providing aromas of orange blossom
to the nose and a fresh citrus hint to the palate, while the Flora
contributes colour, texture and mouth-feel to the
palate. The current release displays a vibrant
yellow colour and a lifted nose showing aromas of citrus blossom,
spice and musk. The palate is fresh and tangy
with a zesty long clean balanced finish.
I love the bottle shops here! There are about 6-7 in my
neighbourhood and one of them is huuuuuuuuge, almost like Jelita's
Cold Storage in size, but all they sell is booze, booze, and more
booze!!
OK, maybe I shall go start my very own thread chronicling my
Wine Discovery Odyssey!
(How the hell do you spell the last
word?!)
oh nose
are you tending to ICU patients nowadays??
