Sounds interesting! But I hear you about the cleaning part. I
like shooting as much as anyone else, but hate cleaning the
guns after a protracted range session; I can't imagine what it's
like to clean a 76mm gun!
Curious: where do RSN vessels go for live-fire
training/exercises? Or is that privileged information?

Easy to visualise.....just like the M16 with its five-piece rod,
we also use a up-size 5 piece rod. The difference is you need 2
people to shove the freaking big stick into the barrel, and another
guy ties a wad of flanelite to the end in the gun mount.....it's
dirty work. Mainteinance is a big headache. But to watch the gun in
action is really...WOW. Just a command from the FCS and the gun
swings into position. This is a gun that trains and elevates at
60-80deg/s.
For land-targets, it's Pulau Sudong, St John
Island.....otherwise its S China Sea.
