A few of the Filipinos in my old ward were extremely... what's
the word for it... egocentric. I think they became very
defensive because in all the countries they have worked in (UK,
Middle East, USA, and Singapore), they weren't highly
regarded. So a few of them ended up being argumentative and
quick to defend their pride in their country.
I overheard a very aggressive gay Filipino male nurse boasting
to an Aussie staff that Australia has only produced one Miss World
whereas The Philippines has produced four in the past, blah
blah.
This same nurse will criticise everything about Melbourne but
the thing is, he's applying for PR.

If this country is worse than his home country, the Philippines,
WHY would he want to be a PR here?
Totally not gracious! He's the type who gives his country
a bad name...
My ex colleague who was fired by my boss claims she was born and
bred in Melbourne, and I was wondering why her accent is so
Filipino... she was very angry and defensive when I asked her if
she from there...
