since we are fishing for rabbit fish, get the smallest gold hooks you can find and 4-6 lb line, it'd be easier to buy those pre-tied packet of sabiki jigs and just cut away the feathery stuff ... Razz

bait is white bread, though you can bring along some prawn and sotong with bigger hooks and you'll get bigger stuff like fingermark snapper there ....

that's a spotted half beak ....

they are very very common all around singapore waters .... easy to catch, but not a lot of people knows the technique .... you can see them skimming across the sea when they are frightened, and some people mistake them for flying fish ...... the fish is small but the meat's delectable .... no bones, you fry them up in light batter and the centerline bones will part easily from the flanks ....
