Okie ... so after the potluck ... maybe it's time to look at loosing some weight, no ? ...

Let's go donate blood ! ... Razz

Where:
Health Sciences Authority (outram)

When:
19th January, Saturday, meet at 10 AM at outram MRT ...

Who:
Everyone healthy enough ...

Why :
Let's give a little more in the new year ... I was a long time blood donor before I went overseas, now I'm back, it's time to start giving blood again .... I must confess it was the ads I've been hearing on the radio ... but hey ! ,.. it's a good deed, no ? ....

Also, both centers run bone marrow registries where you can pledge your bone marrows as well ... if you haven't had the chance to do so before, this is it ... Razz

We can of course, arrange a gluttony session afterwards .... Twisted Evil

gigabyte14 SG

how will the process be like?

Fatum SG

you go there, fill in the forms, declare that you haven't been notti or a brokebacker in the last 6 months, and wait

the nurse will get you to lie down on a comfy chair, poke the needle in, and let your blood drip .....

after 300 to 350 cc or so, it's done .....

laurence82 SG

i would say the process is relatively painless

donate blood? Shocked Shocked Shocked what if my blood won't stopped flowing out after that? will i die? Shocked Shocked Shocked

the Bear SG

that'll only happen if you are haemophiliac..

they'll give you a piece of cotton or gauze.... hold against the vein for about 5 minutes and the blood will clot and the bleeding will stop..

then they'll give you a very cheerful-looking plaster (at least the last time i went was like that) Smile
