Rhonda SG choco B, consider investing in a pressure cooker! Now's a great time to get one too as Ngee Ann City basement is having a sale on kitchenware and I saw at least two different brands of pressure cookers on sale there! I remember being invited to fennymouse's home for dinner once and she cooked a really tasty potato and carrot soup with pork ribs. Turns out that the cooking time was cut by more than half, and yet, it tasted like the traditional method of cooking had been used. No difference in taste at all, and cuts the cooking time drastically! I was impressed.
Fatum SG i know what to use that for ~! .... to cook pork stomach soup !!! ...... Stew Beef Tendons ! ......
the Bear SG yup yup those are great in that you can just leave it in the corner of your kitchen and hours later, you have great soup or stew!

Wanda SG Some of the local dishes I had in Bali last week. They are like our Malay dishes but can be quite different in ingredients and tastes. Gado Gado Soto Ayam and Ayam Goreng Soto Ayam and Gado Gado (with a big bowl of peanut sauce!) - both quite different from S'pore's version Balinese Rice Set - comprising Ikan Bakar (bbq fish) and Chap Cay (mixed vege)
