Education is heavily subsidised (or free, if I'm not wrong) in the Scandinavian countries.

However, they pay for it through really heavy income taxes... something like an average of 45% per working adult. Shocked

So really, that guy has to get this into his head: there's no free lunch.

A friend of mine was strongly addicted to this game... to the extent that she was spending hundreds on dollars on buying Habbo Hotel furniture. Shocked

When she professed her addiction and asked for advice on how to kick it, I asked her how she paid for all this. And she told me that she used her dad's credit card.

At which point I told her: 'Pay for your own purchases. If you can't pay for it, then don't buy it.'

As a result she eventually she got over the addiction when she realised that she couldn't afford to fuel it.

the dutch pay 0 - 52% income tax and 19% VAT (we call it GST)

the swedes pay 0 - 56% income tax and 25% VAT
