the Bear SG dumpling! i'm back.. got my iMac back.. the neighbour's house was hit by lightning and the surge took out my modem and some logic card in my iMac.. being an iMac, they had to change the whole motherboard as it's part of it... the repairs would have cost me close to $1,600 luckily, i got Applecare and the repairs are FREE!

fudgester SG Woah.... my head's still spinning from the tremors just now. I still can't properly tell whether the building's still trembling slightly or if it's all in my head. I guess it doesn't help that I live on the 19th floor... a HDB block is essentially a vertically-mounted cantilever beam which has greater oscillations at the free end. And the fact that I live in Marine Parade doesn't help either.... I think the soil that makes up reclaimed land is less stable.
Meia Gisborn SG Perhaps the additional demand comes from shippers in Singapore, hence Maersk's decision to have the vessel call there instead of Malaysia. Just a guess.
