Celtic Knot SG oh...Daybreak at 6am... Must get boat to get into the River. It was a huge important festive to the native, so all boats were taken by the Media. One of my guy managed to bride the boatman in getting us one boat.. paid dearly for it...about $15 each person for this kind of boats.. see...it's a thousand of pple here..
Celtic Knot SG Check out this...(not my boatman), right in the middle of the big Ganga River, the boat can be parked in the centre, and pple can walk on it... like floating on water...it's a reef...my friends did it...i no gut to try...dun wanna fall in and drown myself and my cammy...plus the water is icy cold..
Celtic Knot SG The boatman decided to bring us downstream .. We stopped at one of the "pasar malam" area, and decides to grab something to eat. I bought myself some fried flour dougnut stuffs. Only 1 guy dare to share the food with me, while the other 2 refused to try street food.. Also met Mr Bull and other interesting characters.. cold and lonely
Celtic Knot SG We decided to go to the Tomb attractions.. sunset..without a tripod..and mozzies everywhere.. Street people the glam hotel these classic cars are everywhere..! Private cars, taxis, of this make. I felt that I am back in 1960s again..
Celtic Knot SG DAY 4 Our takes at the Tomb are not good enough, so we got up early (like 5am) and "jog" to the venue to take more pics... Daybreak.
Celtic Knot SG Packed and got ready for another LONG journey to Varanasi...the holy land .. and we thought it would be short journey..we were wrong.. met a few more nice pple gave a packet of potato chips to this lady..which brought a big smile to the whole family...simple happiness.. luckier families granddad and granddaughter was busy chatting with locals most of time...i felt privilged suddenly..
Celtic Knot SG After a lot of confusion and checking, we finally hopped onto a train and hope for the best that we did not gotten onto the wrong train.. recycled COWDUNKS ! and we thought it was oki...the train took longer (technical problem) and we passed by a toxic-burning factories. Probably I inhaled too much, I was so sick.. Dragging my heavy backpack, we climbed up and down high steps of Varanasi. and finally we decided on one hotel (after checking manY), I fell flat on the bed. (there is no lifts/escalator at HOLY Grounds). My 3 kakis decides to utilise the "pool" money and went for a gluttony feast (eat and drink) and bought me one SINGAPOREAN FRIED RICE. The rice was the best food that I had for the past few days.....oh boy..

Celtic Knot SG erh..not really leh... I am the fierce one in the group. Whoever bully us, I was the one "scolding" at the con-mans... the 3 guys kow tow to me actually. during the trip, i managed to foil their plans to cheat us. and me auntie used the sweetest voice and smiles and we gotten better bargains and assistance.., better sleepers seats and more food..
Celtic Knot SG DAY 5 GLORIOUS VARANASI Woke up at 4am (i never wake up so early during work days..), dark and quiet, serene..i like.. walk down the narrow isle and back alley, pple, cows, cows dunk everywhere already.. cannot take photo of the burial ground, i quietly took a pic very foggy and calm at the Ganga River
Celtic Knot SG Morning Exercise.. Morning Prayers By the burial ground. - I was at the burial ground, watching solemnly the "burning" of the dead. Women are not allowed there (fear that they cry loudly. As I'm a tourist, so they make an exception). I saw with my own eyes that the "deceased" got burned till the skull turned black.. I was surprised that I braved thru the entire ordeal. There were "dead bodies" wrapped in colourful aluminium-styled clothes and flowers, laid at the alley, and I have to walk pass them most of the time. the Floating temple A young boatBoy!
