fudgester SG *me mysteriously appears in a puff of smoke* The techs at the repair center confirmed that my laptop's AC adaptor was spoilt. And since the warranty's over, I was forced to shell out the money for a new one. It cost me $160 - considerably much steeper than I thought. I was expecting it to cost around $100, tops. I'm pretty depressed over all this.

av98m SG OMFG You were ROBBED!!!! As long as you follow the specs on your laptop's ac adapter(and its pretty much the same for laptops), you can buy a replacement at sim lim tower for less than $50.

But the toshiba service centre should be razed to the ground for this crime All the ac adapters for laptops come from the same few factories in china anyway, there is no reason for one to cost so much!!! Write a nasty letter to Toshiba about this (the main Toshiba HQ in Japan that is, not the Singapore one)
