ShrodingersCat SG Bleddy Hell! http://news.asiaone.com/News/The%2BStraits%2BTimes/Story/NCSS%2Bsounds%2Balert%2Bon%2Bbogus%2Bkids%2527%2Bcharity.html That's why I don't donate to those ticket sellers. bah.
the Bear SG i never do... most are scams.. the genuine ones, you're giving close to 50% to those who organise it... a very small percentage actually reach the charity
ShrodingersCat SG Yeah... it's stupid stupid STUPID! For those who have extra money wanna donate, let me know!!!! My schoool have loads of families and kids who need new wheelchairs, new spectacles, new shoes.
the Bear SG yeah.. well, if i have more shoes i don't need (my organisation issues us shoes sometimes) i'll let you know.. really in the meantime, i'll give my money to the charity i know which turns all the money into actual things for the poor.. and those who help out usually come out with their own money too... and their time and use of their own vehicles
ShrodingersCat SG Heehee... I just feel these people are evil lah. Stealing from those who need it, preying on people's sense of sympathy.
Wanda SG Did they use NCSS' name when soliciting for donations? I also wonder: sometimes when we're presented with a copy of the "licence" by the commissioner - how do we know that is a genuine copy of the licence when we've never seen how it's supposed to look like?
the Bear SG tell them outright: i'll give it to the organisation directly.. i don't like the idea that the company organising this is getting a huge cut... and if it's genuine, they will..
Wanda SG Ya, I usually do that...but sometimes, if I see a handicapped ticket seller, I will buy a ticket...
elindra SG I only do direct donations and not to ticket sellers But still -_-" These people should burn in hell
^tamago^ SG they've been around for so long. every holiday they lure youngsters looking for jobs to sell charity tickets. those who had spent a day with them noes wat's going on.
stellazio SG yeah one of my friends once got scammed into working for it. out of a 2 dollar ticket, onyl 30 cents goes to the charity.
RaTtY8l SG and every saturday seems to be a flag day all year round . always see those sec sch kids asking ppl to donate on every sat n tats getting abit irritating.
hiphop2009 SG and i encounter before those xmm wearing damn low cut and mini-skirt, trying to sell those tickets. and saw some ah pek looking at dem like as though dey nvr see zha bo before. some measures must be put in to stop these nonsense.
The man who was death SG that's the compulsory community service thing fault.....the sec sch kids are irritated by it too i think.....i remb when i was in sec sch i wished the public would complain about this to the moe and save us all from hell.....
Wanda SG For the annual NUS Rag N Flag day, the hostelites and clubs will build floats in a competition, so part of the money goes to the expenses of the float too. That’s what I know, unless things have changed in recent years.
dragg SG this is certainly not the first and wont be the last. what can we expect when even the bigger charities have cheats in their CEO.
