On a trip out to sea on a police patrol craft.
5 of us on board.
3 went down below to sleep.
Only me and heng awake. heng decides that he needs to pang sai. but
dont want to use the boats toliet cos he dont want to pollute the
the air in the holds where the other crew is sleeping.
So he steers the boat towards Kusu islands and even berth the boat
himself. tying the ropes from boat to jetty.
it was a drizzling night, and I walked out to sit outside in the
rain, watching him walked thru the jetty to find his toliet.
I saw him walked, then halfway across the jetty. He 'ka bla kang Bu
Seng' and walked briskly back; remove the ropes and steer te boat
away.
I asked him why but he shushed me.
Much later, at the open sea, then heng asked: 'did you see those 2
flowing white things at the end of the jetty?'
I replied: 'Yah, those are the white PSA flags what'
Heng says: 'But they have long hair flowing down!'
Heng hold his sai till the next morning, when the other helmsmen
wakes up and brought the boat to Jurong Islands, where Heng sprints
into Jurong Island in daylight and used those temporary toliets on
that island.
(Those were the days where Jurong islands wasnt connected to
Singapore mainland.)
