alvin74 SG I'm 33 this year. Wkg for my father-in-law in his retail biz. I studies CBS (Acctg) in ITE-Bishan. Worked after my NS as admin, then moved on to Accounting. All my life till 2 yrs ago, i'm doin accounting jobs. Holding a below-executive position, I have strived to study in ACCA but never get past the MSER topics. Knowing to stay top and alive in the accounting industry, I need to study & attain more than just a CBS. But coping with work alone already stressed me out. Now i'm moving to my mid-30s, anyone like me in this situation where you felt you have not accomplished anything meaningful in life? I have not earned my first million dollars, is it a "must-have" goal for everyone? Moving to my mid-30s, is it going to a crisis? What crisis are we all talking about anyway?
alvin74 SG by far, i dunno too... but can say i'm quite a "anything-comes-i-receive" person... how do i find back my direction?
the Bear SG maybe your goal isn't part of your work? people like me? simple person.. i just want to be happy... even one day at a time, also can
elindra SG What do you want in life? Earning your first million bucks is not a must for everyone If your direction in life is just to put food on the table and be happy, maybe you are already living the life you want. Or is there something else bothering you like not living your dreams or what not?
alvin74 SG I believe even you have more work than you could manage, when you settle down after your daily bath every night, you would be thinking... Man, what's all this routine about huh? day-in day-out, repeating the same actions, isn't it mundane? Is it mundane enough for you to think about it?

tare SG for me definitely lah... at tis age, no hubby, no house, no cpf, no $$ i only wanna be happy... trust me TAT is very damn difficult goal
ShrodingersCat SG to be happy first must understand that life is a journey not a destination so as long as you learn to take pleasure in everyday life to not lose the sense of wonder, to continue learning new things see the world in new ways then even in mundanity you can find miracles
the Bear SG all of those things are lost when one succumbs to cynicism.. which i see in a lot of people these days... and with it, a lot of their humanity is lost... so.. why trade their humanity for a bunch of goals which don't amount to much in the end? was one happy if he amassed a fortune? maybe fleetingly.. oh well.. i choose to try and lead a happy life
elindra SG Some people are happy and just happy with what they have And yes that to them is their goal in their lives To be able to put food on the table To have a healthy life and spend time with their loved ones You are obviously not happy or not satisfied with something Maybe you should think what is it you are looking for Better standards of living? Better opportunities? Finding love? I guess once you can put a finger to what you are looking for you will know which road to take. But you really have to work for it because if you don't you might just end up bitter
viciouskitty74 SG The time when you asked yourself that question. Shows you are awakening to your possibilities. We sometimes equates goals...like earning our 1st million, thus we can be happy. We drive big cars, then we can be happy. Or we put foot on the table for our little ones, and seeing them eat....we are happy. Goals arent all material things. It can be as simple as having a shower and savouring the soap. But all in all, you already moved in the right directiion to join Club30 These are a bunch of people. That frankly....are just happy to hang out with.
<Precious> SG Wad crisis can there be just because you are getting older? Unless you have been putting off living your life the way you want and been living the life others want you to live.......... Yes, lots of soul searching to do. ... and you'd better do it fast. Time and tide waits for no man!
tare SG erm.... actually i thot mid-life crisis is when we hit 40? i wonder wat's the chance of me marrying myself off by 40? *presses av laugh button*
