stellazio SG i use to own budgies when i was younger, lasted about 4 years with me, i keep buying females to keep it company, and he humps all of em, but duno why they can't survive. then when i was in camp, it flew away according to my parents. so sad, it was so friendly to me, that when i fed it bread it will come to the side and pick it off my hand. and was the only bird that allowed me to stroke it. i was emotional for 3 days.

Rhonda SG Budgerigas? I'm forgetful but I think that they are really delicate and get easily frightened, then they peng san! They are very pretty birds though!
stellazio SG yep, very pretty birds. my fav was a light blue one. and i rmbed once i heard it trying to talk. they're scared at first, after showing lotsa care and staying by their side everyday soon it'll warm up to you.
Rhonda SG So cute! What did it try to say when it was trying to talk? It's very endearing when shy creatures slowly warm up to your presence.
the Bear SG hmm.. wonder if budgies are like raptors.. you have it in front of you with food in your hand.. not looking at it, but looking beside it.. after a long time, it'll come to you and pick up the food.. do not move to touch it.. keep doing that to win its trust..

stellazio SG yeah, i took small pieces of bread, and held it at the side of the cage everyday.. its at its cutest when it shakes around and sprinkle the water on you.
stellazio SG actually the fact that it responds when its name is being called out is good enough for me, i never really expected it to talk, especially since i didn't have it when it was still very young. btw, izzit me, all do all birds sounds feminine when talking.
Rhonda SG If I ever own a townhouse or small house with a backyard, I'd love to have a bird feeder and a squirrel feeder. Just have to make sure the possums don't come and eat it all up!
Rhonda SG I haven't heard enough talk to make any judgement! I once had a patient who told me about his parrot. I think it was an Amazon parrot. I was amazed that the parrot was so darn intelligent! He could hold a conversation with the bird!
