A friend of mine (from my army unit) once asked me.... 'Do you
hate those bullies?'
My answer? No, I don't hate them. Touch my heart. The way I see it,
they bullied me precisely because they felt inferior to others. So
in their twisted way of thinking, they choose to assure themselves
that they're not so inferior after all by picking on the 'easy
targets'.
He then asked.... 'What about the fact that you've helped them so
much (as a medic)? Do you hate them for treating you badly in spite
of all the good that you've done for them?'
My answer? Once again, no. When I help people, I help those in need
of my skills regardless of whatever history I may have with them.
If they want to bite the hand that feeds them, then that's their
problem.... I'm a practicing Muslim, and what I do believe is that
when the time comes for them to answer for why they chose to pick
on that nice medic who treated them well... good luck to
them.
He then asked the most important question of all.... 'Do you
forgive them?'
To this day.... I'm not sure whether I can really answer that.

So yeah... I guess I do have some issues that need to be worked
out.
