Rhonda SG Just wondering how many of you out there use Filofaxes / PDA's and other aids to help you organise your life and keep track of important dates and events? I used to rely on an organiser, using different coloured pens and stamps and stickers to mark out special events, deadlines, etc. That system helped me tremendously, esp when I was in Nursing School. I had checklists in a section in my organiser where I'd write out the To Do's and Revision Schedules, etc I have not used anything religiously for the past two years and I've found that things are becoming a little disorganised. The wages of sloth, I guess! I'll probably start to use an organiser again, because I really need some sort of system. So, what kind of system do you use?
honeymouse SG For work, usually just use the Outlook Calendar to remind me to do things. Outside work, just use my hand phone. Nice and simple.
jetta SG I used to have a filofax but it fell by the wayside. Too many pages I think. For the past few years, I've come to depend on another system: the simple datebook. It's worked so well for me, keeping me on top of dates to remember, schedules, appointments, etc, etc. If I ever lose it, there goes my sanity. I like the datebook over the filofax I used to have because of it's way thinner, is basic and gets the job done.
YA.YA SG I always try to use those book organizer but I always tend to forget to bring out. Lol. Now i just use my Hp calender.
Båseline SG I can't remember hp numbers and keep track of important dates very well so the Pocket PC I'm using now comes very handy. The default PIM in WM OS5 isn't very well 'hung'. So I relied on a third party app for that purposes. Personally, I never liked old skool filofax cos I prefer to have info at a few clicks.
stellazio SG i'm disorganized.. i just keep important dates in my head. or at most jot them down in my " to do list" in the handphone.
laurence82 SG dont really use any organiser nowadays see people's lives centre around their blackberries very disturbing
tare SG contacts use hp... so if hp lost, i bec hermit the rest... use HI = human intelligence... which explains why i keep forgetting stuffs then again who say my life is organise?
viciouskitty74 SG strange that this thread was started. I was out at the CVS pharmacy doing some tolietries shopping again and came upon some $1/- spiral blue lined pages notebooks. What is interesting is that, I more or less get a notebook for each period of travel and the notebook in front is running out of pages. (I wrote in them, and tore them out ever so often.) So I brought the 2nd one behind the 1st one in the picture for USD1/-. Its fairly thick, so I guess it should survive my scribbling in of details or informations that I might need to refer to. Nowadays, rely too heavily on handphone. and when it kaputed. i was totally lost.
Xiaozzhen SG I used to rely on filofax. But now it is the New World, I use my PDA handphone. It has alarms reminding me of everything.
<Precious> SG I keep my schedule simple. Try not to plan too far. Max 1*2 weeks only. Where this is not possible especially at work, I stick memos in my cubicle wall so that I'll constantly be reminded of my deadlines........ The Outlook calendar seems quite useful but I haven't really mastered using that program yet.......
SydneyLibrarian SG To stay organised (or in an attempt to, anyway!) I use: - To-do lists in the office & on weekends at home - My pocket calendar which I carry with me everywhere (it lists all my weekend work & shiftwork days, monetary expenses, doc/dentist appts, lunch appts etc..) - My handphone. I use this as a last resort becos often, I forget to check my phone & it keeps beeping to remind me what I have to do for the day & I'm like "What's my hp beeping for?!"
Meia Gisborn SG At work, it's usually a combination of Microsoft Outlook Calendar and other colleagues telling me I should haul my ass into an in-progress meeting that I had previously forgotten to include in Microsoft Outlook Calendar. At home, it's a combination of what I feel I want to do at that moment, and friends calling me to find out if I had any plans of hauling my ass to a previously scheduled appointment/meeting with them that I had completely forgotten about. Either way, my life organizes itself quite automatically.
