saw fatum kena wrongfully fined for illegal parking.. so it's
$50 or $6 if you go get it fixed...
fatum, you should tell them you are being presumed guilty which is
not right.. 
but seriously, how many things out there are such that guilt is
presumed and you have to go bang table? or is it a business ploy to
just charge you for phantom stuff, hoping that a lot of people who
can't be bothered or those who are fearful pay up? they'd make a
killing.. it's like those unsolicited nigerian scams.. you get
0.001% of the massive amounts of spam you send out reply with $$$,
you're rich!
so far, i've gone to UOB to talk to the people who tried to charge
my sister for subscription fee to a "free VISA card" which she
doesn't use... the damage was bad.. $149.90 or something like
that.. all i did was to ask "hey.. my sister isn't even in
Singapore, she'll not be for the next 18 months.. she's not used
your card and isn't it supposed to be free??"
they immediately said "oh.. i'll waive the fee" without even
batting an eyelid.. so.. if there are 100,000 out there with the
card, and 1% paid the $100 subscription (the other part was the
"late charges" ) they'd have 1,000 people paying $100.. that's
easily $100,000 of "free money" !
chances are, there'd be more than 1%
then even our gabrament does it.. last submission of income tax,
their bloody server crashed.. i sent in my taxes and they had the
audacity to levy a fine on me for non-submission!
if 1% paid up the fine, they'd have millions of $$ of free
money!
and all i did was to go there, the clerk there looked resigned to
doing a lot of work as she just keyed everything in for me, and
didn't even attempt to ascertain that i had submitted.. she just
asked me "you filed right?"
something is not right.. not ethical about things...
so, how many of you out there just pay up without checking? please
check, you may be victim of underhanded tactics to gouge more money
out of you!
