the Bear SG coming? thing about the duck is that i will have to stand over it for about 2 hours... the ribs i just bung it into the slow cooker and leave it for a long time i put to a vote one of these days also, it's actually kind of hard to find the giant type ducks these days.. i will have to go scout out the wet markets
Meia Gisborn SG That probably rules out fabricating the frame from some kind of composite material, like a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer.
Wanda SG You seemed to have done very well in getting good job offers. What do you think contributed to it? Good results? Or good perf at the intw?
av98m SG tentative dates are next weekend, or the weekend after next. braised duck, egg, and tau gua will suffice
the Bear SG mmm.. according to Mad Labs, bamboo worms are better than beef... actually, bamboo worms are yummy but beef is yummier ohh.. appetizers are crickets... they're eating them i've tried locust.. not bad.. but too much exoskeleton... bamboo worms next.. weight for weight, double the protein of beef.. hmmm...
Wanda SG Erm...i don't know. You reckon a potluck is a good way to meet many ppl for the first time? And I'm lazy to cook... I went to a potluck gathering over the new year and I brought pork knuckles (ready cooked) and wine. Well, when av puts up a new thread on the potluck, you can put in your vote for duck or ribs.
the Bear SG i'll say only duck then.. braised eggs need about 3 days of stewing before it is good... and i'll need to get the duck...which means some shopping on a sunday one week before the day itself
fudgester SG We considered that - but the costs are too great. Heck, if we had the dough, we would have gone for titanium. In the end, we decided that aluminium gives the best combination of weight, structural strength, corrosion resistance and cost.
Meia Gisborn SG You're still unemployed, right? If so, you should have time aplenty to attend this event.
the Bear SG titanium, weight for weight, isn't as good as carbon fibre... and with carbon fibre, you can mold it to whatever shape you want.. so your design must be strong to do away with the weak points.. directional strength is very important
the Bear SG wondering about that orange duck pork ribs.. are actually assam sour.. so rice is good with it.. maybe the braised duck... see what i can conjure up apart from that.. hmmm.. got to check also... i have to work some weekends too
the Bear SG yeah.. that's why aluminium is the best all around for the price and weight... however, joining it, can't use traditional welds
