Meia Gisborn SG So when the Euro4 standard takes effect in Singapore on Oct. 1, what are the distributors going to do with all those diesel trucks that aren't compliant? Ship them to other countries which don't have the same standards, perhaps?
sbst275 SG Yeah So now comes to the shipping cost, and even so, maybe like Malaysia, they wun take in those models found in SG, either due to model diff or this manufacturer dun have distribution in Malaysia
the Bear SG yeah.. probably to malaysia or thailand or vietnam or something.. gotta cut the losses somehow
Meia Gisborn SG I wonder how difficult it would be to retrofit the noncompliant vehicles with equipment that will make them compliant with the new standard.
Meia Gisborn SG How so? Does the new standard also call for changes to the refinement process for diesel fuel?
sbst275 SG In other news, Malaysia has reduced traffic summon rates on account due to higher fuel prices and to stop ppl from ‘paying’ police officers
the Bear SG heard that over the radio.. seems like a lot of the people who don't pay the fines are the politicians...
laurence82 SG holy crap that is like trying to feed a male spider using a female spider, only that the bigger female spider eats the male spider after having a night of passion with that chap
the Bear SG anyway, there is a rumour saying that on 12 Sept, Apple is going to launch its Core 2 Duo 23-inch iMac...
laurence82 SG i am eyeing the Mac Mini tho, i am tired of lugging my awfully heavy CPU around everytime i need to get it repaired but i am buying the $399 esys system before i get enuff money to buy Mac Mini, then cannibalise all the hardware to make one new pc
