the Bear SG the cult leader is making evil food in the form of broccoli btw, try not to feed the gulls inedible objects with your leftovers... i tossed a lit ciggie butt at the same direction and time my friends tossed their remainder chips for the gulls.. and after that frenzy, no more ciggie butt! that cafe you showed... good stuff.. i think they open 24 hours and it's in the middle of the city.. not very cheap but it's one of the best places to have a beer or a coffee (depending on the weather) and maybe even cake and coffee.. and watch people go by.. if guys go during summer, there's another place i would suggest to walk and people watch... it's Chapel Street.. lots of pretty people go there to see and be seen
SydneyLibrarian SG Australians all let us rejoice, For we are young and free; We've golden soil and wealth for toil, Our home is girt by sea; Our land abounds in Nature's gifts Of beauty rich and rare; In history's page, let every stage Advance Australia fair! In joyful strains then let us sing, "Advance Australia fair!" Eh... that is Australia's national anthem leh!
choco B SG Heheh sure hope the occupants will clear up somewhat before they vacate Maybe I'll try mine again next Chinese New Year after the spring cleaning is done LOL
SydneyLibrarian SG They'd better Anyway it's in the contract that they steam clean before they hand over to us. If they dun do a good job, I'm coming in with my sugar soap & cleaning up everything! Yes, do post pics of your place after you springclean hor & let us see
the Bear SG don't mind her.. she's probably not heard of Advance Australia Fair... well, most people think bloody Waltzing Mathilda is the national anthem of Australia and that Sydney is the capital... *ahem!* i blame that on their sheltered childhood
elindra SG The song of a tramp stealing a sheep the national anthem of Australia? Cannot be la But I think can't be help You know Australia's history Then again why sheep....that sounds so NZ
breytonhartge SG Looks like you have a nice and cosy place Rhon... how are you? Hope that you are well, looks it! Let me know if you ever come down to Adel... will show you around my neck of the woods. Blessings and shalom!!
Deportivo SG Waltzing Matilda is the unofficial anthem because all aussie knows how to sing it. Even myself spending 3 years down under, picked matilda up within the first 2 months. But seriously, the song really embodies the australian beliefs - freedom, outback, nature and the carefree life. So if i get to choose the aussie anthem, it will be: 1. Waltzing Matilda 2. I Still Call Australia Home 3. Advance Australia Fair
LinYu SG Swee!! so where are the peekture of the KANGAROO and KOLA BEARS and......... the hanmesome hunk/nurse you mentioned.
ShrodingersCat SG nice sofa. I could lounge in it all day and you need a baseball bat to get me off something like that. Strategically placed in front of TV.. and coffee table for handy snacks, drinks and newspapers. Gosh. I miss Australia. So much. Remember how a bunch of us used to go for midnight moonlight walks in our pyjamas freezing our butts off...
one-niner SG Gee ....the gd old days ...a tear or 2 came my eyes as i recalled the happy days i spent as a undergrad 2 yrs back ..*sigh* ..so fast i am been working for close to 1 yr ..just 3 days short of it ... =P nice apartment and setup you got there ! and the food ..smells so farmilar to me ..the singaporean get togethers during my stay there ..the laugher and the singlish ... *sigh* ... Lets waltzing matilda !!!
elindra SG I learnt Waltzing Matilda in primary school during music lessons though I couldn't figure out what the hell the song was about then Well, positive side are the beliefs -freedom, outback, nature and carefree life. Negative side would be tramps/vagabonds, squatters and thieves ; not wanting to find work to earn a decent living
Rhonda SG That was a lamp I got from Ikea! They were all in boxes, placed in some corner, and on sale! I think about A$16 or so nia! I hovered around the stack, not quite sure if it'll coordinate and 'go' with my decor but I'm darn glad I decided to get it! And oh... I'm eyeing a floor lamp from Ikea with an uplight and an adjustable reading lamp, plus a lampskin rug (also from Ikea) for my living room! And, there's this really reeeeeeely snazzy rectangular table lamp with fine black threads cascading from it with a really good peek-a-boo effect from this furniture and lifestyle place... whatchamacallit, suddenly forgot! ... that I'm absolutely in lust with for my bedroom! BUT, it's a freakin' A$99!! Too bad the BIR (Built-In-Wardrobe) in my bedroom's in boring white... wish it was in black or some darkwood cause it'll then go perfectly with my comforter and overall theme for the bedroom!
Rhonda SG Yeah... it has a 'Raggedy-Ann' look about it but ssshhh... I guess they'd much prefer it to be called mode d'art / modern contemporary abstract architecture or something classy sounding!
Rhonda SG Thank you! Thank you!! It was a blessing in disguise that I moved just on time for the June sales so almost everything I got, I got at a hefty discount! And yo, choco, the sales here are REALLY S-A-L-E-S, man!! Not like the 'obligatory' 'sales' in Singapore! The flip side is, the variety isn't as great here and we DO get more 'latest' stuff sooner. As for fashion here, goodness gracious... I almost choked on my snacks when I saw what they proudly paraded on TV as the 'latest Spring fashion'!
Rhonda SG Makes you think about the expenses incurred as well as the time spent housekeeping for owners of homes featured in decor mags! Maybe, they banish the dogs and cats and even, their kids from going anywhere near their pristine white couches prior to the photoshoots?
