Rhonda SG Tamade... felt like going shopping but then suddenly remembered that most shops in the neighbourhood mall close at 5:30 or 6:30pm. So many times I've just warmed up to my shopping only to find that they're all closing liao! And oh, it gets dark by 5 or 5:30pm nowadays.
Rhonda SG Man, I'd feel the same way if I were to lose my mobile too! Speaking of which, guess I'd better quicky copy the phone no.s inside my mobile into some notebook or whatever... just in case!
elindra SG That's the thing I can't understand Why do the shops close when people are just getting off work
Rhonda SG Hanor! Hanor!! I guess in winter, nobody's really in the mood to work though. Everyone just wants to rush home to a warm meal and snuggle. Me, I like to be in the workplace because it's warm and I don't have to pay for the heating when I'm here!
elindra SG I had like 58 missed calls from Chris (He's in Thailand for reservist) And I was worried you called too and couldn't get me. Oh, I have to repeat this here. I watched CSI on Tuesday while snacking on an ice-cream and then they cut open this guy's skull and took out his brain I was like ...I'm eating...and suddenly my ice-cream lost it's flavor to me. BTW, I think I prefer Criminal Minds to CSI
Rhonda SG Poor Chris must have been nervous as all hell! Mondays, there's Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy on TV here, Tuesdays, there's CSI and Sundays, there are two hours of CSI. I always request my rest days to be on Mondays and Tuesdays.
elindra SG Hehe he was pissed and nervous He got his sister to call me too. He should know that I have bimbo moments like yesterday It was a whirlwind day and I forgot I left it on my boss desk after talking to him
Rhonda SG I miss certain folks from back home... but I also miss a few of my possessions that I wish I had brought over! But overall, everything I want, I can get here. Only thing is, Money No Enough nia! Y'know, it's amazing but DVD's can be sooooo cheap here during sales! Can get better deals here than in Singapore even! And every week, $3-5 is set aside for a bunch of flowers to brighten up the living room. Very swee!!
Rhonda SG Originally posted by SydneyLibrarian: Rhonda has mentioned the 2 most important 4-letter words... FOOD & SALE!!! Thank you Rhonda for alerting me to the Myer sale... and oh, while you're in Myer don't forget to apply for the Myer One card (free application & this is not a credit card but more like a loyalty card kinda thing) so you can get privileges like exclusive shopping days for card holders. Oh, you should get this book called 'Melbourne & surrounds: a discovery guide' with photography done by Steve Parish (famous photographer in Aus); the piccys are breathtaking and the info in the book are excellent for someone who's just moved to Melbourne & wanting to know more about what interesting places there are to visit! Applied for the FlyBuys card a few weeks back and waiting to get it. The leaflet said it will take up to 28 days!!! Anyways, I plan to go on day trips in Melbourne to explore the outlying suburbs soon! I think saving up for a PC and broadband connnection, then saving up for driving lessons and a car would be my priority now. I'm tired of assembling my own furniture so the sidetable and bookshelves idea will be shelved for now. ANd the Myers sale was really disappointing. They were just tryign to get rid of stuff. It certainly wasn't some 'history-making sale', as claimed!
Rhonda SG I have tons of them photos sitting in my digicam, waiting for me to buy a PC so I can upload and show! I've also taken photos of the food I've cooked since here, except for that one occasion when I forgot. And oh, lots of flower pics!
Rhonda SG Sigh... gotta go liao! THe library's closing soon! Ta, ta, folks! Be good, take care, eat well (haiz, this one for sure one!) and hope to get online again soon!
elindra SG Take care too Rhonda Eat well is for sure They are already planning for next JB Gluttony session
SydneyLibrarian SG I know exactly what u mean... me too! I can't take quite alot of hawker food when I go back to Sg - and remember what I told u abt my hubby? Ate char kway teow and felt sick for one week, when we first went back to Sg!
SydneyLibrarian SG Hubby & I were just discussing cost of food in Singapore vs. Sydney, both when eating out or buying groceries. We find that whilst eating out is more exp. in Sydney, buying your own groceries & cooking turns out to be much cheaper than if you were to do so in Sg! I guess it's cos Sg exports so much of its groceries, that it's more expensive in the long run to cook!
SydneyLibrarian SG How come the library close so early one?!?! What lazy librarians they have over there
