there is no need for profits...

what they need to do is to have a sustainable system for the country...

there is NO NEED and NO PLACE for growth in a PUBLIC SERVICE

that's BULL... you FACTOR in your costs of running.. it is all factored in already..

tell you something, one of my friends was an accountant.. he had a knock down drag out fight with his firm...

they wanted him to sign the audit for the then-TIBS... it was ALL nonsense.. fantasy accounting... showed a loss... but it was all rubbish.. they made a profit but was shown as a loss when they lumped in a whole lot of one-off rubbish due to mismanagement..

ultimately, the higher ups signed the audit...

the audit gave TIBS an increase in fare..

the next year, they made an OBSCENE profit..

replacements are NOT and NEVER EVER fuelled by profit... they are all factored into sunk costs...

Reminds me of the time I was examining the income & expenditure statements of one of our local VWOs. You wouldn't believe the stunts they pulled to show a "loss". Laughing The audit form which signed off on it deserves to be shut down. Tell you about it during the next gluttony session.

End of the day, how? Its not like we can boycott the mrt and the buses. Unless you want to risk your life cycling. Laughing

On that note, the bus driver who killed the cyclist got only 6 year's ban from driving and $7k fine. Damn, if I know that someone I really hate cycles, I should go run him over with a car. $7k and a 6 year ban is worth it!
