The Ad about NUS and the Ang Moh girl and her mother

Finally saw the ad yesterday. It really defies all reason and logic. WTF is the person in the ad choosing NUS when she got letters from her own local insti...

there is something about this ad that bugs me..

of course.. the one about the guys being too cute for the mom's liking is pretty fine with me.. Laughing

but i was thinking.. y want to show Singaporeans that ang moh prefer NUS than some other unis? i.e ivy league..

wat are they trying to say to singaporeans... its not like those who can make it to uni can really choose btw local or overseas (discounting ppls who are on scholarhsip etc and those with really rich parents).. so u have 3 choices..

must NUS really sell on the point that even ang mohs come over to NUS to really sell the point that its that good??

that one i can still get the message.. its local.. so at least that can justify the target audience.. in this line of argument.. does anyone know if these ads (esp the ang moh girl one) is being played in any other parts of the world?

i dun see psc making it a clause in their scholarship agreement that they have to stay in NUS..

if like wat u say.. its a choice that is for everyone in the world.. then hw come of all pple i dun see our gvt endorsing this fact?

and have any other asian person.. someone from china/japan/ african.. wherever other than singapore in an ad trying to sell NUS to singaporeans.. seems wrong.. (at least to me)

which brings me to an earlier question.. about the ad being shown in other countries outside singapore? if this was done. i m fine.. if its only shown in singapore.. then i am still puzzled. abt the target audience..
