i beg to differ, with certain types of people, only by letting
them know they won't get away with things . by being "righteous
& honourable " and saying "i won't stoop to their level " would
only invite more knives to your back.
sad to say nowadays our society is one that only allows "small
people" & "fierce people" to survive
take for example one of my friends, he found out one day that
someone was spreading rumors about him, basically it was someone he
knew who "specialises"
in starting this kind of stuff. and to make matters worse his wife
was getting bullied by this "small person"
what he did was, he went down to confront the guy and told him in
the face , whatever happened in the past is passed, and from this
moment onwards, if he ever hear anything regardless of whether its
real he'll come down to beat the crap out of him.
from the way i saw how things worked out , i believed its better
then sitting quietly in a corner and watching things get
worse.
but of course its helps if you've been an ah beng and you're well
built before you threaten anyone
