Wanda SG Is there something that can do the reverse, as in retards plant growth? I dun want my money plant to trail the corridor, and the pomegranate plant to become a tree.
choco B SG the Bear and Rhonda Re: chicken meat and bird flu My mom was told and she knows. But still insists on "keeping safe" Good point on the eggshell though , her efforts may be misplaced :p
Rhonda SG The eggshell thingy was thought of by one of my ward sisters when we were discussing bird flu one day. We're now on Code Green Alert but Singapore's not expected to be hit with any cases until maybe, Feb-Mar 2006. No idea how they make such predictions since air travel and migratory birds kinda stack the odds against us.
the Bear SG chickens are probably lower-risk as they are tested and if one is found to be positive, the whole lot of chickens are culled... however, i'm worried about birdcrap on the car.. who knows which bird out there is infected?
Rhonda SG Yeah... my colleagues and I were saying that maybe, car owners need to put latex gloves and mediwipes in their cars to handle the birdbombs!
Kuali Baba SG It's more complicated than that...read 'From Porridge To Pizza' at the website I posted. http://www.channel4.com/life/microsites/J/jamies_school_dinners/
Rhonda SG When I was in Upper Sec, I dreamed of working in a few occupations, one of which was a Chef cum Dietitian! I still hope to enroll in a culinary school for a proper course someday. Hopefully, will marry a food lover too so we can go on one of those holiday cum short cookery cert course package! They have those schools in Europe and the US!
Kuali Baba SG Who knows, you might run into Ian Hewitson ('Never Trust A Skinny Cook') or Kylie Kwong while you're in Oz. The latter uses too much oil in her cooking IMO though. Or you could start a cookbook library.
Rhonda SG And subject my precious cookbooks to possible theft and damage? Nooo!! No way!! Sorry, but this collection's precious to me and I'd like to keep it intact and complete.
Rhonda SG Yo, kops! There's actually a sort of satisfaction that one can derive from cooking. It's also aesthetic and a form of relaxation for some. I love to cook for close friends because you can cook with love. Every single step of food preparation and cooking, you're thinking of cooking for people near and dear to you. Can't wait to cook for my SO next time!
kops21 SG i know the feeling, but my cooking skill have stay where it is 20years ago. in fact have gone down the drain. so when i get the opportunity to taste ur cooking? in exchange i bring/guide you for a relax run.
