Now there's a Gordon Ramsey. Dunno if you have heard of him. I liked the series Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. Can try downloading. He basically tries to revive failing restaurants, sometimes with success sometimes not.

Amazing guy. Has a face that looks like the surface of the moon, has a manner not unlike an ex-footballer (which he is), yet he is actually a michelin starred chef!

Annother great food series is Rick Stein French Odyssey.

How the hell do you get Prawn Mee in london? The chinese takeaways basically serve variation of one dish: Chow Mein. --> Singapore Chow Mein (which i have never heard of in Singapore), Chicken Chow Mein, Beef Chowmein, Special Chowmein, ad nauseum.

oh we didn't do it. we forced the bloody management who promised us it will be cleaned off b4 we move in, to do it. They sent some people over to wash it up, at their cost. They were supposed to put in a pigeon net tho, and they didn't so its building up again despite the best of our efforts. Well if they wanna spend more $ to get people to come wash it, they're welcome to. Laughing

meanwhile we have fun plinking the pigeons who come to the balcony

This is amazing! The dinner ladies don't even know how to slice a carrot and hurt themselves! All they've ever had to handle is the deep fryer. Surprised

And the older kids are buying junk outside school at lunchtime, taking orders from their schoolmates, and even their parents are helping! Sheesh!

Why not? Cooking is also about creativity. Smile

He is the 'agaration' cook. Agar agar the amount of sugar, agar agar the amount of salt, flour, wine, milk, etc. No need measuring spoons de. Smile

I also agar agar de....coz lazy to do washing. Embarassed

i dunno why people find it so difficult.. gimme about 10 to 15 minutes... all will be cleaned in double-quick time Wink

Well, doing the dishes ALONE is easy.

How about rushing back from work (and before you can sit down to rest or get a drink), stand for 1 hour cutting, chopping and doing food preparation AND cooking, frying, making a pot of soup AND washing the dishes, knives, chopping board used in food preparation, pots, kuali, sometimes clean the oven or grill + the dishes used in serving dinner (after dinner)?

My hubby usually wash the last bit - the dishes he sees on the dinner table only. Wink
