Ah, to kill a mockingbird is a very nice read. Through the eyes
of Scout Finch, we see a wide range of human/social
behaviour.
Hypocrisy
Racism
Religious Bigotry
Self Righteousnes
Prejudice
Intolerance
and the list goes on. There are many themes and morals that one can
use to teach young children in this book, I feel. Like why
Atticus(Scout's father) does not tell anyone, even his own
children, that he is deadly accurate with a gun, and why he decided
to take a case no other laywer will dare touch, etc. We also take a
look at what it means to have an education, how one should make an
effort to understand one's neighbours etc
If I ever have kids I'll be teaching them using this book for sure.
Thanks, Harper Lee!
