i would say that it's a great movement, seeing how much plastic
waste is generated for bags...
also, i see many people asking for more plastic bags for God knows
what reason..
recently, my organisation gave us each a heavy cloth bag for use if
we do shopping.. that's good! however, how many people would use
it? they'd rather go empty handed and get plastic carriers... which
will probably be thrown away later...
i try my darnest not to use plastic bags when i can, rather tossing
my purchases into my own sling bag...
i see changes.. a few years ago, when i did that, the packers or
cashiers at the supermarkets or shops used to look at me as if i
was a nutcase, but now, they're actually smiling and telling me
that what i'm doing is good 
could we also have a No-Plastic Bag Day here? would it be
successful?
we really could reduce the amount of disposable bags used in
singapore.. goodness knows mother earth could only approve
