Another thing - file broadly. All documents relating to one project go into one file. Workplan, budget, minutes, schedule, etcetc chuck them aalll in.

Might be alittle messy but at least they're where you left them and the mess is nothing some post-it labels can't sort out. Do not use different files/notebooks for each seperate item, chances are that you will lose them all. :p

Yeah, use ONE notebook / diary, and then use different coloured pens or same pen, different symbol / icons at the start to differentiate the different categories.

Biangz... having more than one diary / filofax will definitely be one huge problem! Razz

It's incredible leh you people. you neat people who don't procrastinate. who label drawers... and keep to filing systems. I RESPECT YOU!! -deep kow tow-

I dont have a table in my office. I do have a cupboard and that.. is surprisingly organised. (Drawers for colourpencils, fat colourpencils, pencils, other stationary. Plastic Shelves for paints, brushes, paper, plasticine. The only messy shelf is shelf no. 3 which is big box of unidentified objects left over by previousssss colleague) So I do most of my paperwork at home.. so my home worktable is my office table technically. Sad

Ok... let me see... what I shall do.. positive steps..

1. Once I find my filofax... I will dispose all OTHER notebooks. Err. Except one other.. that one i take minutes for my hobby....

2. Err. Files. I will keep to my expandable file and not use ANYTHING ELSE. for filing

3. I will not... procrastinate? Be consistent? (sweat)... step 3 may just be too big a step..... for me to take.... it is one big deep chasm between Me and Non-Procrastination

4. Therefore, I shall DELEGATE! I shall delegate all non-work-related-filing-snailmail to the Husby, hereby conferred title of Defiler! Now, he will just have to do all that on top of housework, cleaning of cat poo, and killing deadly/non-deadly insects. Besides other husbandry duties of course.

5. I will.. shred all paper and put them into recycling bin instead of attempting to recycle all used A4 size paper myself.

My dream stationery to use in filing is an auto-fill stapler.
Hate HATE it when you get into the momentum of things and the stapler runs out. Mad

Yeah lack of staplers and paper clips are always a good reason to not file IMMEDIATELY.... Neutral

Baby steps... You don't have to do proper filing immediately but how about start with ... throwing papers in general direction of sorting pile? LOL

Get A4 printer paper boxes.. label them, then sort as you go... sort throw , sort throw ... throwing action is fun and therapeutic !

Yeah i was figuring that when I bought my nice cool bright yellow expandable file....

and I did have fun, putting on all those tags, thinking of CATEGORIES, and putting existing filing in those little pouches

Then... err.. after that... Sad

Maybe I shd give myself a sticker each time I file. It works with the kids.

Folders not easy as you think leh... need to take down from shelf, open, find right slot, slot in, close, put back on shelf... see when you break it down like that it's tough!!

Whereas a row of boxes along a wall... aahhh Idea Throw ! Fling !

Y'know, part of the reason why my move was such a royal pain was because I tried too hard to be organised about it. Razz Sometimes, when you don't really have the luxury of time, you just can't afford to be so neat and organised one. Razz
