Rhonda SG Oh, I definitely cannot imagine having kids here!! It's not just expensive, the poor kids will be subject to stress at a very young age! We're afterall surrounded with perfect examples of Stepford parents who want to give their kids 'the best' and become extremely competitive. Nosiree!! My kid's not going to lug back a fat bag on wheels full of tons of homework that mommy and daddy have to help with after a long, hard day at work! My kiddo is going to have lots of playtime just being a kid! Homework shouldn't dictate the lives of the poor kiddos and their parents! In other words, I don't think that 'Quality Time' means time spent sitting with your child, helping him/her with the homework!

Rhonda SG When I go out with my aunt and mom, or with mom and dad, finding a parking space is soooo darn frustrating! It's also very stressful cause you have to keep looking out and make sure no one chioh with you and get your space instead. I think it's very easy for fights to occur over disputes over parking spaces! Imagine nice family outings marred by fights over parking spaces. When we go to the beach on Sundays and we see the parking attendants issuing fines for cars that parked along the double-yellow lines on the road, I always mumble, "So much for Family Time!" and even mom and dad would be very vocal and say, "Just give these people a chance! It's a Sunday and they're probably bringing their kids and entire family out for a day of fun!!" Yeah... it's all about the revenue!!

Rhonda SG It isn't a healthy way to live, that's for sure! We're going to see more and more stress-related ailments and illnesses and also, psychological conditions. Chronic Stress manifests itself in several ways and there are huge social costs to this as well.

strikefreedom SG Dun be suprise if you find the train in melbourne insanely pack or super heavy traffic congestion too during peak hour. also have fun looking for parking space especially in city area if you going to park there during peak hour.
Rhonda SG Yeah... stressed at work, stressed at home (because of noisy neighbours and children's homework and children acting up cause they're stressed too), and then, stressed at recreation!! Cham liao!! We're going to have people going postal in increasing no.s liao!
Rhonda SG Have you noticed how a lot of folks get stressed in their workplace (esp if it gets more competitive), and then when they go out, they 'transfer' the stress to the service staff or to wait staff by being demanding and nasty? Their mentality is something like, "I've had a bad day at work being ordered around by the bosses and the customers... now it's my turn to get what I want!" and the poor service staff really suffers from their rudeness and attitude? And yes, on more than a few occasions, I've overheard people saying that! It happens... people cannot manage their stress well.

Rhonda SG But we're keeping the sick and elderly alive longer and longer with modern medicine! It's a financial drain on a lot of families. I've seen how torn these families are... they have to fork out a lot of money every month just to pay for the nursing home for their elderly folks... and it's a strain on everyone cause they have their own families to take care of at the same time. Sometimes, I'm not sure keeping someone alive, with chronic illnesses and a decreased quality of life, is a good thing.
