Yeah I agree, like in Malaysia their new ruling created an uproar amongst women because if their husband decides to get a new wife, he is entitled to the first wife property etc if she doesn't agree to his new wife and he wants to divorce her.

I don't think there's a 50% benchmark for alimonies. A lot will depend on the court having regard to the circumstances of the divorce including certain provisions set out in the Women's Charter. In any event, matrimonial assets do not include inheritance or gift that has not been substantially improved by your spouse or the couple during the marriage.
