the Bear SG i think i just fired a first salvo in a thread in CC... they were gushing about Chow Gey and the Huo Yuan Jia music video.. and i said it was horrible and made wushu look damned gey.. and it ruined a (not that good) movie
littlestream SG I got hear this phrase "the best man wins". Bear.........with that post in CC, you got wear your armour or not? But never mind lah. I think the archers are sleeping already.
the Bear SG but i speak the truth.. the guy looks like a jerk, and his "dance and wushu" moves are jerky, his voice is jerky and effeminate... that makes him.. a... gey jerk... or something else totally indescribably idiotic
Rhonda SG A lot of male Chinese artistes go through a stage where they adopt an effy image. Andy Lau wore long skirts at one stage. So did Aaron Kwok. Alex To did that effy thang too. And a few others... I'm wondering if they consider it a sort of 'artistic direction'. Some sorta 'rite of passage'?
Ferret SG *coUgh cOUgh* No need zip lah. Its "show and tell" session over here ! Hmmm....Then "swamp thing" must be presentable so i can bring it across the borders....
the Bear SG no.. they were just blindly following trends.. while this gey chow fella is trying to follow as many trends as possible.. making him look like a jerky cynical buffoon..
skeujin SG they do it for stage presence lah. thers not much u can do to jazz up the male attire... thou singers like the grasshopper n leslie wer gay.
Rhonda SG He's actually talented - he composes his own songs. Before that, he used to compose popular songs (non-rap) for other famous singers. He surmounted huge obstacles, ie. producers telling him he was too ugly to every 'make it', to finally sing his own songs and produce his own albums. His MTV's are pretty creative and most of his songs kinda grow on you. That Huo Yuan Jia MTV was a huge shock though! I don't exactly like men using fans, jumping around like ma lau (Cantonese for monkeys).
littlestream SG Aiyah, show and tell over for me liao. Now, more like "show and run". Reminds me of this joke about this grand dame who ran down the stairs, naked, to greet her husband at the door. Her husband wasn't impressed and said "would you please go iron that dress you have on?"
