Re. the men as home-maker issue, I really won't mind if I ended
up having to go out and make a living whilst he stays home to see
to the housework and the baby / kids.
These days, there's no such thing as an iron rice bowl anymore and
recessions and retrenchments happen, even to the cream of the
crop.
I believe that marriage is a partnership where each should bring
their individual strengths into the relationship to make up for it
where the other's weak.
For eg. if the lady is 'better' and more adept at bringing home the
bacon, whilst the guy tends to have better housekeeping skills, a
gender bender and role-switch might make both happier, provided, of
course, that both don't have ego issues attached to the role
reversal!
Where babies / kids are involved and maids aren't an option, it
just makes pure economic sense for the one who's faring better in
his/her career and bringing in more $$ to remain in his/her job and
continue doing what he/she does best whilst the other takes on the
responsibilities of handling domestic affairs.
And btw, I love to call housewives ''Controller of Domestic
Affairs''!
