Couples these days expect a larger living space than before.
Meaning, it's common for them to combine two bedrooms to form one
large master bedroom. Even the singles relish a huge bedroom cum
study / walk-in-wardrobe kinda concept.
It used to be a couple purchase a three-bedroom apt and one would
be the bedroom, two would be the kids' rooms.
Now, it's more like two bedrooms would be combined as one huge
master bedroom or one room would be a bedroom, another would be his
study, the remaining one would be her study! 
I guess there are higher expectations these days!
