Rhonda SG They are lao jiao's. THey do their job very very well and their standards are high. They are also very polite to the patients and the visitors. Well, unless provoked by unreasonable people then of course, they make a stand. And yes, I used to be shocked that nurses can actually be SO mean! But by now, used to seeing it liao. Isn't it so ironic? You care for the patients so well and yet, on the other hand, you bully your juniors like she-devils? Both good AND evil intentions flow out of the same heart?!

Rhonda SG Well, when I first joined nursing, I was shocked to see the politicking around, sometimes blatantly too. Whilst I felt that office politics was a bit more 'polished' and more the stealthy sort, the politics here is very in-your-face and very gruff. Here, they really don't give you 'face' one! Thought that we'd be working hand-in-hand, but nuh-uh... a few of them can really act like Prima Donna's / Empress Dowagers!

And it's not just me... anyone who's new to a ward or who have just graduated from nursing school and is starting work, will have tales to tell you of how they've been 'bullied'.
