I know book vouchers will be among them...my sister's former nanny will probably give an article of clothing. I got my father a white shirt...he never wears plain white stuff but this one's got a herringbone threading.

I don't have the practice of gift giving / exchange. But this is the season when I receive corporate gifts from vendors.

The best Xmas gift I could receive are the PERFECT organisers:

I just had an arguement with an old friend about gift exchange. I am noy against gift exchange but felt that old friends are beyond gifts.

Anyway, now I don't know what to get for them. Anyone got any ideas? Neutral

Fun? In one ex-co of mine, the gift exchange was taken to rather extreme proportions, that out of obligation, I had to spend $150-$200 on gifts, plus time and effort to shop for them, wrap them...every year. And I don't even celebrate christmas on a personal level. Phew! Glad there no more of that now. Mr. Green

Hahah there goes the bonus. That's alot of money for gifts for acquaintences LOL
The way I see it, it's not like I spend alot on friends during the year anyway, sometimes you remember birthdays, most times you don't :p

But $200 is alot. I think the sane way to do exchanges is to buy ONE gift, get them all pooled and just do ONE exchange.

speaking of chocs, anyone tried the chocs at chocz? I wa told to avoid like plague...yet so many outlets are springing all over the place.

For hand made types, i recommened godiva (City link) or Teuscher (Palais Renaissance)

You guys should buy 1 gift each , pool and exchange once, rather than get a gift for each and every person/couple.

Yeah, there was no mistake. The colleagues were being nice and all that, but it became an obligation to return gifts of a similar value to those from whom I could expect to receive gifts.

And then I had to stand by a few other gifts for the 'just in case' ppl who might start to give me x'mas gifts....so every year, the gift list just grew longer. Sad Heng! It's all in the past now....the end to commercialism for me! Mr. Green
