[b]Bear, pray tell the dangers of carbo loading pls?
Kops, I don't know how to put it, but there's a
theory that says instead of carbo, one shd train the body to burn
fats which will provide a more consistent and constant source of
energy during endurance sports, rather than burn carbo. By loading
on carbo, one is training the body to burn sugar instead of fats
(sugar which is not a very good constant source of energy, hence
the sportsperson can get fatigue before end of the race). I read
this from a book written by a marathon runner who also trains some
famous sports people (forgot his name now).
Also, the common knowledge is that during the initial 20 mins of
exercising, the body will burn the sugar stored in the muscles,
after which it starts to burn fats. Hence when exercising for
weight loss, one is advised to exercise for at least 30-45 mins.
This advice then seems to defeat the purpose of carbo loading,
no?
Anyone can shed light on this? Sorry to OT esp. on a topic more
related to gluttony.

During training session, myself DONT carbo loading. I prefer to
let the FAT burns. Even for a 38km run few days back, i dont carbo
load. For competition it will be different. U want to be at your
best shape. You will try to prolong the "kick in" of the FAT burns
portion as long as possible.
There is a line to be draw when it come to health and performance.

For any endurance race(competition), carbo loading is a norm.
