sbst275 SG Usually see more ladies than guys reading onboard public transportation... Read as they travel... It can be just a normal novel Seems men dun have such habits
the Bear SG used to read when i was on a train.. now if i read when i commute, there'll be a car crash
Rhonda SG I used to read on the bus / train but since being narcoleptic, reading on the various modes of transport kinda makes me feel giddy. These days, I read before bedtime, read whilst eating (unless I'm watching TV), and I also read when I'm erm... sitting on my throne.
Wanda SG Yes, me too. It's not a common affliction, it seems. Reading on the train + plane is ok. My hubby reads books when he travels on the train/buses - non-fiction stuff.
Wanda SG Waa...train also? I thot the train ride is not so jerky, so it's alright for me. When I go travelling up hilly/mountainous areas in a vehicle, while others are enjoying the scenary, I'll be shutting my eyes or napping to avoid giddiness/throwing up. Is there any solution? Who else has this problem?
elindra SG I can read in the train and bus. One thing though, I need to read before going to bed if not I can't sleep!
choco B SG 1. drive 2. sit at front passenger seat in car 3. sit at first row in bus where you can view straight out through windscreen 4. when travelling, focus on a point in a distance 5. there are pills for seasickness but not sure if they work / there are alternatives, for motion sickness I am very prone to motion sickness too but it's somewhat manageable.
Wanda SG Good suggestions, and I've tried 2 and 3. No.4 doesn't work for me on a winding mtn road. Somehow, the vision signals sent to the brain can't be aligned with the sensation of balance felt inside the ear (waa...brings me back to biology class ).
choco B SG Yah certain road conditions are so bad that it's impossible to prevent motion sickness. Suck on a sweet, that helps. I avoid activities that require too much concentration on a moving vehicle, like searching through a bag for an item.
av98m SG Reading in MRT train is something I’ll do if I have enough elbow room, bus is a no-no, unless I want to get vomit all over my book. Buses and cars frequently make me feel queasy. Most of the time it’s easier to just listen to some music.
av98m SG Aunties too. Cannot tahan thse people because they take up more space and always poke people's back/neck/face with their newspapers.
