yeah... anyhooo.. i'm off.. it's half past 4 in the morning here... bye everyone

stellazio SG

i hate ms access.. Laughing

the Bear SG

is there no end to your evil? Shocked

Laughing

laurence82 SG

Yeah kinda cool, but in some areas, Access is better

the Bear SG

some running dog at work came up with the most insane and irresponsible "database" ever in Access...

being "IT", the bosses loved it even when it is totally useless...

well, each time i use it, the file grows... even when i open and close it, it grows by about 100kb..

what the heck is wrong with the damned thing?

laurence82 SG

I dont understand, why would a big org wanna use Access when they can afford programmers to come up with programs to suit their needs?

the Bear SG

note the words "running dog"...

he came up with it.. actually, he mooted the idea, everyone shot it down... he pushed his idea to the big boss... suddenly, a lot of people ended up doing the hard work (they had the misfortune of knowing visual basic and Access)

he took all the credit and everyone's eternal hatred...

we've been fighting with that piece of crap program ever since.. no one trusts it and it's generally known to be crap and irresponsible...

everyone except the big boss who is still enamoured by it..

laurence82 SG

yeah, i seen people who are enamoured by useless programs and pooh pooh others

the Bear SG

strange thing about that piece of crap... you cannot "save" and if you screw up, you screw up...

it saves automatically whenever you do something, which means whatever you enter, and go to the next box, it saves...

and it lost a whole lot of data too! i think it was when the prog grew too big for a floppy disk..

the 900kb file is now a 4MB monster... same amount of data!

laurence82 SG

strange, i didnt havent seen access works like this

the only time i seen a program data increase like that is when i load macros onto my excels

hmmm

u guys still using floppies?

the Bear SG

you don't know the half of it...

we're not allowed to use thumbdrives because of "security concerns"

i think the bigwigs climbed so high, the air up there is very thin.. the lack of oxygen is affecting their brains...

laurence82 SG

hmm, someone adjusted the timing on my clock, and its working perfectly fine

the Bear SG

huh?

what clock?

laurence82 SG

the clock on my table

laurence82 SG

here is the weird thing

has rhonda succumb to Mr Zhou again?

the Bear SG

oh... i should be asleep.. i've been up since 6am... on 3 hours sleep and 4 the night before Razz

laurence82 SG

go go go

the Bear SG

but i'm nocturnal Laughing

night shift tonight so i'll be unconscious most of the day anyway Wink

Fatum SG

*knock knock ...... Neutral

Rhonda SG

Yeah... I fell asleep again. Razz Embarassed

Okey-dokey! Here to close the shutters now!

laurence82 SG
