choco B SG Nope. Deepavali holiday is on 1/11 (Tues), Hari Raya Puasa holiday is on 3/11 (Thurs). So it's a staggered work-week coming up
Rhonda SG Yes. Disposable lenses cater for astigmatism these days. I'm wearing them. Costs more than the 'normal' ones but hey, it works! I've got night blindness too. Eat carrots and foods with Beta-carotene in them. Or, like someone mentioned in here, eat that chinese little red thingies... gei chi (in Cantonese), cause it's supposed to help too. Sorry, response very slow... only had time to read this thread now. hehe!
Rhonda SG I wish... I'll be working right through both Public Holidays. I dread to think of what my Christmas / New Year's Eve / New Year's roster will look like! Last year, I had to work nights on Christmas Eve, Christmas AND Boxing Day! The year before, I was made to work on Chinese Reunion Dinner day itself!! Oh well... soon, I might even voluntarily work on weekends and public holidays because I'll be paid a huge premium for it over in Australia!

the Bear SG today is the last day for heavy trucks to use the malaysian highways before they are banned from them for the holiday season there... so expect today's traffic at cargo to be insane and i gotta work the holidays next week... oh well.. i get 2 days time off
the Bear SG calculating my leave from 2004... got 9 days left to clear in December... feel like taking the last 2 weeks of December off my last day at work for the year would be 18 Dec (sunday) then the rest of the year, i'll not be at work
the Bear SG escape is kinda hard... not when everything is priced at peak season rates... maybe just bum around, visit the places in singapore i want to, pull out the camera and go wander around, taking shots..
