Well you must understand that people have different tolerance levels towards their own personal space. Just as you will not feel comfortable if some big burly guy sleeps on your shoulder or if you have slept on a big burly guy's shoulder, even if it is a genuine case of sleeping you will feel embarassed too.

Fact is, if you did accidentally fall asleep and rest your head on her shoulder, you did invade on someone else's personal space and should accept that she WILL feel uncomfortable. Instead of getting angry and upset, I think a sincere apology will probably alleviate the tension.

i did apologise but she gave me a hard time. is it so difficult to tell people nicely? i am sure most, if not all people have such experiences, including myself. i react according to the situation. either i bear with it because i can tell he is genuinely tired or i choose to give up the seat. or at least tell the person nicely.

i once saw an office lady yelling at the man beside him. he made the man so embarassed. the train was very crowded. she could have told him nicely.

Sure, there are lots of people out there who don't behave well. We don't need to join them.

We never will understand why these ladies react in this way. Possibly they have HAD been molested before, so they feel very strongly about it. Or possibly, they are just behaving really badly.

Not knowing their stories, it is easier for the rest of us who prefer to stand in the corner, judge them and complain abt them Smile

Nevertheless, as long as you and I try our best not to behave (too) badly, we leave the pingpong ball on their court and can walk away, as suavely as possible

the bus driver should leave the judgement to the respective authorities... drop them off at the nearest police station or after he reach end point...

ever i kenna chi tou fu in a bus b4 also.... the idiot sit down with legs open wide wide.... until i was squashed against the window... i tried to use my bag to push against him and he lagi shiok and lean over even more.... worse he pretended to be sleeping and keep nodding his head over!!

i lun until cannot lun, i got out of the seat. it was a super crowded bus and i purposely got out and stood on the asle next to him... everyone just stared at him! like ... gosh why so crowded and tis gal stil rather gave up her seat?! and no one dare to take the seats not even the guys!! Re this case mentioned in ST, I note that the letter writer is a woman. Maybe she’s assumed that the alleged molester was guilty. Maybe the other commuters did not agree with the pesky complainant. Afterall, in a crowd bus, it’s hard to say who’s right and wrong and it’s defnitely wrong to inconvenience other communters with an argument between two persons.
