Rhonda SG Naturally, we have our aptitudes for different subjects and areas. And now that school-going peeps are busy preparing for their exams, studying would be foremost on their minds. So, where does your strength lie in? And, share your studying tips!
^spidee^ SG My best subject was Chinese. The way I studied was literally watching TV and listening to YES 93.3 FM , and of course practising how to write new words and essays. The handbook (ci yu shou ce) was especially handy.
hisoka SG me str is in understanding stuff and in meduim maths and my memory is the worst in human history of "normal" humans any one got cure?
[email protected] SG strongest subject: English tips: just identify the sort of reading materials that interest u, and then keep reading it non-stop. i did that to the detriment of a lot of my other subjects. but i aced english without any effort.
[email protected] SG next best subject: math. tips: i actually have a fairly good natural aptitude. unfortunately i really hated it as well and that sort of cancelled each other out. my tip would be not to be a uber-lazy math hater like me, because u WILL die.
Rhonda SG Gee, sounds so much like the philosophy I adopted when studying. I would work towards aceing it in my best subjects, and ignoring my weaker subjects, which was stupid. But then again, during 'O' levels, I was a headstrong teenager who thought I knew everything! During 'O' levels, my strong subjects were English, Pure Biology, Bible Knowledge and English Literature. At 'A' levels, my strong subjects were English Literature and GP. My Achilles heel - Math and Chinese. I probably have the worst case of Math phobia ever known.
[email protected] SG it wasn't that i ignored my weaker subjects. it was just that i got so much enjoyment from reading that i counted it as a leisure activity, and because im lazy, i refuse to do any work, and prefered to indulge in leisure activities only. and trust me. u dun want to compete with me for the title of most mathphobic. im sure i beat u hands down.
Meia Gisborn SG My strongest subjects at the 'O' level were English and Science. The weakest was Chinese. Hated it with a passion, and failed it nine years in a row.
Quinsy SG My best subject was English- it was the only subject I could NEVER fail. Tip: READ, WRITE AND SPEAK GOOD ENGLISH AT ALL TIMES. FUCK SINGLISH. But for my O levels, my best was Biology. A! Tip: DO ALL MCQ QUESTIONS IN THE TEN YEAR SERIES AND PRACTICE QUESTIONS PICKED AND PREDICTED BY YOUR TUTOR. ALWAYS WORKS.
Kuali Baba SG Mine were art, english, math and chemistry. I know it's a strange combination...and doing well in math wasn't due to any sort of interest in the subject.
seow SG Strongest:english and literature, but i hate lit.... Weakest: maths(almost never passed before....) and chinese. Art too, too tedious. Die.. collecting my result slip for my EOY exams tomorrow. Pray....
FireIce SG w/o a doubt -- chinese the only subject i relli no need to study at all and go for exams both E and A maths oso pretty ok hated physics and chemistry
shade343 SG My Best was English and Pure Bio. I never failed any of these subjects. My ability in Maths started to erode when I gain an interest in sexology....
