i think i was a nightmare neighbour once 
well, heck! i didn't start it!!
we were in the hostel, it had a giant communal fridge.. my room
bought meat pies and put them in the freezer but they kept gettin'
stolen...
of course we were pissed off.. the next grocery shopping trip, we
were walking around Safeway's and chanced upon cheapo generic
no-frills catfood, at 20 cents a can... and i went "Pie
Filling!"
there was evil glints in everyone's eye when they heard that... and
off we went and bought the cheapest generic meat pie...
we went back to the hostel, dug out the filling and put in the
catfood, replaced the crust and chucked the foul creation into the
freezer...
within 6 hours, it was gone! 
so, brandishing the empty can of catfood, we put told people, who
spread the word, and put up a sign, saying we've spiked another pie
in there, along with a few other things... only we knew which (of
course there wasn't another)
no more pies were stolen ever again
we never found out who it was but we didn't care
the manageress of the hostel was paralysed with laughter when we
told her about it and said that it was one of the most hilarious
things she has ever heard of and that we were the first to ever
stop pilfering from the freezers 
we were EVIL!
