Kuali Baba SG My cousin's wife gave birth to a son about 3 hours ago. I can't believe how quickly everyone's grown up...my younger cousin (his brother) is now an uncle, my aunt's a grandmum, and my grandma's now a great-grandmum! My aunt's flying in next Sunday and that flight was booked long ago. I can't wait for the Cadbury Flake. The sprog hasn't got a name yet, and I can hear the groans as somebody thinks about confinement (the wife's side is the conservative sort). And mum and grandma are going to buy 4D numbers based on today's date and the kid's IC number, time of birth and weght. The girlfriend finds it rather amusing and so do I.
Kuali Baba SG I became one long ago when my (paternal side) cousin gave birth 7 years ago, but it's my maternal grandma's first great-grandchild
laurence82 SG Wee, kuali an uncle If you get married, you got to give ang pows every CNY. No kidding. My cousins less than ten years older than me started giving me angpows...
Kuali Baba SG Oh, and my cousin (the new uncle) is still 16! I'll post a snapshot of the sprog if I can get my hands on one, Gackt. I don't have enough quid to support myself, let alone a child, and I don't think she does either. I'm subsisting on "allowance".
Camellias4me SG Yeah.. i can't believe how fast every1 grown.. my niece gave birth 2 months ago to a healthy baby boy. so dat makes me... a grand-aunt (yi-po)?
the Bear SG i lost count... my late grandfolks were very prolific.. many MANY children.. i don't think i wanna know actually anyway, nick, congratulations of some sort
Kuali Baba SG I think when it's my turn, I'll adopt a child, like another cousin of mine and my uncle. I don't see a point in adding to the world's population when there are children in need of love. If there's some genetic condition that Mrs Nick and I don't want to pass on, then I have a good reason to do so.
Kuali Baba SG I just learnt that the little one shares the same name as our Gackty! I have to text him this.
