Rhonda SG There seems to be a pretty bad lag tonight. After clicking on the 'Submit' button, nothing happens for a long while.
the Bear SG nothing of that sort here what a hoot tonight on Whose Line! they had Richard Simmons on as a guest and Drew was paralysed with laughter
Rhonda SG Orh... Today's Sunday... and Sunday nights are CSI: Supreme Sundays! Now, it's the episode of CSI: Miami where a tsunami struck the coastal regions of Miami. Interesting!
the Bear SG was it a 50cm tsunami like that which hit some place after a recent earthquake? i was reading the news and saw 50cm tsunami, i thought it was wrong.. but it was actually correct! 50cm tsunami??
Rhonda SG That's odd. 50cm hardly makes a 'tidal wave'. Could be a case of mis-using a term. Kinda like how 'headaches' are commonly called 'migraines' by some folks!
Meia Gisborn SG Shoot. That hardly even qualifies as a ship's wake. By the way, Rhonda, your postcards arrived yesterday. Thanks! When will the winners of the free trips to Singapore be announced? No milkshakes for me today. MG
Rhonda SG Oooohh!! Goodie!! Which postcard design did you prefer? I liked the one with the kids sharing an ice-kachang more than the one with the Esplanade and fireworks. Once again, pardon the scribbles. The first two were written at leisure and then, the last few were hastily done to catch the deadline.
Meia Gisborn SG Indeed. I shall have to make do with multiple servings of root beer floats for today. How was your weekend? MG
Rhonda SG MG, the postcards came with a section that had to be torn away. The details were on there but you can view them on this website : http://www.visitsingapore.com/projectpostcard.
Rhonda SG Oh, man!! Gimme a break!! I went to check the postcard winners... our names aren't in there!
Meia Gisborn SG The one with the kids digging into the ice kachang. Made my mouth water. Really! If the picture on the postcard is anything to go by, the Esplanade has to be one of the most grotesque-looking pieces of architecture in Singapore. If they were going for the durian motif, they succeeded admirably! MG
Rhonda SG I love love love Rootbeer floats! The last time I had one, though was... what... two years or more ago? I remember that when Denny's restaurants were still in existence, I loved one of their floats - Orange Sherbet with strawberry sauce (with real strawberries in it! ) in a tall glass with Sprite in it. I think it was called 'Sprite Delight'! As a kid, I remembered drinking McDonald's milkshakes. The typical flavours they had were Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla. Then, they had a special promotion period where they offered Banana Milkshake as well. Now, I'm lactose-intolerant so milkshakes are a huge no-no for me!
Meia Gisborn SG Ah, well. Then send more postcards! Looks like I'm obliged to send something back to you. Any requests? MG
Rhonda SG Seriously... you aren't 'obliged' to send anything back. This postcard thing is an annual thing and I'd always make it a point to send a few to each of my overseas friends.
Meia Gisborn SG /me goes back into the Witness Protection Program, possibly permanently. Right now, I'm looking at a possible trip to Singapore sometime early next year, for a break from winter here. If that happens, I'd love to meet up with the Club 30 regulars; how difficult would it be to arrange such a gathering? MG
Rhonda SG Goodnight, guys! I've got the yucky morning shift tomorrow. Or rather, in a few hours' time. Bleah!!
