sydney is basically too urban and stuff.. its like singapore 8
hours away by plane. i'd still recommend going to beach areas if
you wanna go to australia, or try going to the deserts, very nice
encounters with wildlife you will get.
personally, if you can afford, try going to maldives. it is said
that the standard has dropped, i am not sure however. it was too
expensive for my friends and i to go, therefore, we chose australia
instead, the previous year.. we went to phuket/phi phi island in
thailand.. that was the first time i experienced diving and got the
padi cert ^^. thailand has cheap shopping, good food, and trust me,
i enjoyed the diving/snorkelling and kayaking thoroughly. thailand
is beautiful and economical.
i also heard about pulau redang, which is rumored to be even nicer
than maldives. my dad has been there before, and he gave it a
thumbs up, saying that he'd rather go to pulau redang than
maldives, comparing the marine life/corals etc.. and also most
importantly.. the price. maldives however, has unbeatable beach
resorts =D
