Actually, come to think of it, I had a sudden zap of inspiration
and thought that wise bosses might interpret the following thus
:
"He / She was a very dedicated
worker and often puts in long hours just to get see the task to
completion."
What it REALLY means :
"This person has absolutely NO LIFE
whatsoever outside work! So, go ahead, dump all sorts of
responsibilities on him/her because they will slog to their graves
for you!"
"He/She is friendly, helpful and
able to get along with all levels of staff."
What it REALLY means :
"He/She loves to talk and treats the
organisation like some ()@#$& social club / SDU!! He/She loves
to gossip and is an absolute busybody and whenever something new or
interesting happens, you can bet he/she will definitely be there on
the pretext of 'helping' but all he/she wants is to stick their
nose in your business!"
"He/She is very committed /
trustworthy / dependable / reliable."
What it REALLY means :
"Go ahead...pile work on this person!
He/She will just slog and slog and complete any and every task you
dump upon him/her for you! It's as easy as dumping extra burdens on
some ass, literally!"
"He/She is very innovative /
creative."
What it REALLY means :
"When he/she is supposed to be working,
he/she is often caught staring into space, daydreaming, but he/she
will always be defensive and claim that they're thinking of some
new lofty and fanciful marketing idea! Full of nonsensical crap.
Also full of hogwash and bullsh!t!"
"He / She is a team
player."
What it REALLY means :
"He/She is able to manipulate her team
members into doing most of his/her work for him/her!"
"He/She knows what teamwork is
about."
What it REALLY means :
"He / She often thinks, 'I play team...
you do all the work... teamwork!'"
OK, I'll add more as inspiration strikes!
