shinta SG as above. scenario: a person's down with inflammation of the ear due to a cold, too much sneezing. and there's fever. I'm using this as some form of rebuttal. Please state if this is sth u heard since young or as adviced by the doctor. Thank you.
shinta SG my sis says one should drink chicken soup n not eat fish porridge when down with fever/inflammation. she said it's advice from the doctor. i hav this habit of askin a doctor what are the things to avoid when down with inflammation (i get inflammed once a mth on avg... either the throat or the respiratory tract.) chicken is sometimes on the list.. but oily food is there perm.
shinta SG serious. so far i hav 4 votes on no to chicken soup. yes to fish porridge.. 2 from my colleagues, 2 from me n nel.
Wanda SG I shd think both are fine, as long as you enjoy them, and they don’t make you feel worse. I do remember reading an article long time ago that claims chicken soup is good when one is down with a cold.
kopiosatu SG well i've never experienced inflammation before... i just know that when i have a cough and my throat hurts, i just drink water and consume medicine.
cindtan29 SG i oni heard that fish prorridge is not for those open wounds. its oni to be taken when the wounds are heal!!! for throat.....chix soup is also no no.....other inflammation...its okay! best is to boil those herbal thinggy with pork rib and not chix...okie.....
shinta SG chicken is more oily in general mah so it would affect throat inflammation... but not sure about ear inflammation. usually all sorts of inflammation doc tell me to avoid chicken/oily food...
shinta SG like i said i'm not sure about ear... and like i said oso... doc advise me to avoid chicken most of the time.. my sis said CANNOT eat fish porridge..
SydneyLibrarian SG I’ve been told to avoid chicken… but chicken soup? Never heard that b4 leh… same goes with fish porridge.
