Oh yeah! Cooking's the other major disproportionate
investment-to-yield ratio activity!
I remember how preparing a meal for my friends during the weekend
was like such a big deal!
I'd spend Mondays to
Fridays pouring through my cookbooks, and would even read the
easy-to-carry-along ones on the MRT and company bus to read on my
way to work.
My colleagues used to
tease me, 'Hey, what's cooking this weekend? Can 'chia' us or not?'

I will then decide what to cook, and then compile a list of what
ingredients I need to buy. Then, come Saturday, I would wake up
super duper early in the morning, like 5:45am, and take a good long
stretch by the kitchen window, then after getting prepared, will
walk down to the wet market nearby. I would usually be there by
6:15am and get the freshest fishes and vegetables!
Sometimes, my
planned meal goes through improvisations because there's this super
fresh fish or seafood I just HAVE to buy and cook!
It is such
a joy to go down to the wet market early and grab all the freshest
buys!
Then, I would lug the basket full of fresh ingredients back home
and slowly started doing the prep work as I got the laundry
done.
Cooking for others, especially those near and dear to you, is such
a pleasure!
